Both codes relate to the cam sensor
I thought it was before checking just by what you said it was doing
They are not too expensive and anyone with a toolkit can change it
Bleam Qld would have one and any large auto parts store should as well

Red arrow/Red circle is the part location

Remove wiring connector and remove two screws

This is the part you need Cam Position Sensor

Had a look et the books that came with the car and. The cam position sensor was replaced 2 years ago . Is this the usual life span for these sensors?

From another forum (Dodge)-
"P0016 - The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) detects that the deviation between the cam and crankshaft position has exceeded the maximum acceptable value.
P0344 - Camshaft Position Sensor Intermittent Interruption Bank 1 Sensor 1.
Possible causes:
- Engine oil dirty
- Incorrect engine viscosity
- Crankshaft position sensor circuit is open or shorted
- Camshaft position sensor circuit is open or shorted
- Faulty crankshaft position sensor
- Faulty camshaft position sensor
- Timing gear misalign
- Faulty Camshaft Position Sensor
- Camshaft Position Sensor harness is open or shorted
- Camshaft Position Sensor circuit poor electrical connection
- Faulty starter motor
- Starting system circuit
- Dead (Weak) battery"

And it's not just there that these codes are mentioned.
Usually these problems are just a faulty sensor, but it could be something a little more sinister.

To diagnose like this is difficult, but here's a few thoughts-
-when you say that it runs rough, do you mean that the engine is still revving relatively freely and just feels "unbalanced",
or is it more like that it revs only to 2,500rpm and won't go any further?
-is your engine a 2.0l or 2.4l ?
-how many kilometres has the engine done?
-has the timing belt ever been changed?

Provide some more info and there may be an answer here.......

It feels as if the engine is about to cut out but if I back of and power on slowly it goes for a while did this about 6 times in 15 klm 2.4 motor 120,000 klm no idea about the timing belt
