Hi peoples
does anyone know if there is a sensor on the fuel cap of a 2007 cabriole? am still having major problems with the engine light, have spent $2000 on the girl, new battery, new alternator and the engine light still comes and goes with a mind of its own. A friend mentioned that he read somewhere that someone had a similar problem and changed the petrol cap and engine light went away, go figure. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks guys
regards
Dennis

Hi Dennis. Mines an 03 Model and I don't have that on mine.
Pop onto our website www.ptcruisers.org.au and in it is a list of repairers that you could contact to discuss.
I could give the numbers but I want you to go through our website and choose which repairer suits.

Did a mechanic diagnose the replacement of those parts?
Did they scan for error codes? At least start here
If not, I would get that done before anymore cash is spent.

Sensor on fuel cap?!?! Crap.

Get the codes read and take it from there- been said many many times.
Without reading the codes, and fixing the problem that the codes indicate the engine warning light will keep coming on .
Why do I feel like I've said this before....?????

These are modern cars fitted with OBD Systems, without plugging a so called "scan-tool" in and sorting it out the problem will never go away.
Any "modern" workshop will have one, and won't charge you for the exercise.
There are plenty of NRMA approved workshops around your area- to be approved they have to have a scan-tool.

Use the computer to do a "Google search" for "NRMA approved workshops"- you'll be amazed what you find.

You can't fix your problems by continually asking the same inane questions on a forum.

Dear PTmunji
diagnostics have been run three times, twice by local auto electrians and last time by a chrysler dealer in Nowra. Each time i got different codes anything from airbags to abs brakes which is why i am clutching at straws about this so thank you very much for your input to my inane question.
Regards
Dennis
