G'day all,

I have just bought a 2006 Pt Cabrio for my daughter, she saw it for sale and fell in love with it and I have always thought the PT's were a cool car so we did the deal. I normally play in the Holden/Chev sandpit - I have a '46 Fleetline Aero , a '57 Sports coupe and a couple of FB Holdens. My wife has a'76 Camaro so we are a bit of a revhead family :)

When I got the PT home I threw it on the hoist and did an oil and filter change, it is really clean underneath and everything seems to be working the way it should , so far the only faults I could find are a cracked speedo lens , a small ciggy burn in the back seat and a couple of broken wires in the harness that runs to the bootlid. We have since found out that if the car is locked and you open the boot with the remote it will open OK but when you close it again the alarm goes off :S , it was also set off a couple of times by a garage door remote opener - is this something anyone else has experienced ? I will repair the boot wiring and see if that fixes it , I also have a feeling this car has a non original alarm as there is a couple of non genuine looking wires running around the engine bay - will try and post some pics so the more PT knowledgable on here can give me some guidance.
Also , there is a button on the dash under the radio with what looks like a headlight symbol and 1-2-3 next to it , I had a look in the manual and cant find what it does ? Anyone know ???

Thanks in advance , Blacky.

Hi Blacky, and welcome.

I can't help with cabrio alarm/boot dramas, however you could try
calling Allan at Bleam Chrysler in Old 0755591659 or 0409452086.
He's the best supplier of parts (new and used) and has a brain full
of PT info. His website is bleam.com.au

The switch that you are asking about is the headlight height adjuster, for
when the headlight aim is too high because of weight in the rear. 0 is normal
and then each setting lowers the aim a little more.

Hi there Blackie and welcome to the Forum.

Firstly..thank you Murf aka inferno for filling in whilst we were away at today's funeral.

Blacky those numbers on that dial are headlight adjustments. 3 is headlights down low and 0 is headlights raised.
Hope the wiring repair goes ok for you. I can't directly help you on that as I have an earlier model Classic sedan/hatch.

Sorry Steve aka PTmunji for repeating the headlight settings. I didn't see you logged in and once I entered my bit I saw you were there in the Hidden Members logging. All good there.
