Midstate Mopars Bendigo 2018

With holidays already arranged (7 days for me) it was hard to just sit around on a long weekend
A club run smack bang in the middle or use the whole lot doing something else
Midsstate Mopars in Bendigo Victoria has always been on my list
So a month ago enquiries were made, accommodation was looked at
And again a house was the way to go, two bedrooms 700 mtrs from the town centre and show location.
So Friday morning we were off, leaving Sydney around 8am.
Raining on and off most of the trip, arriving in Bendigo at 6pm
The last 150k’s taking the longest, unfamiliar roads, in the dark and Kangaroos about.
But, it was all worth it.
Accommodation was one of the best we have had
Bendigo is a very beautiful city, where time has stood still for the last 30 40 years.
No high rise, no unit blocks or McMansions to be seen anywhere
One of the cleanest cities I have seen for a very long time.
Saturday was somewhat dryer day with sightseeing and looking around town the main activity, dinner at the local RSL
Sunday show day, a great sunny day and 350 Chryslers of all makes and models from all over the country lined the CBD streets
Steve and Krash came over for a look, along with their partners
Monday was more sightseeing, taking a tram ride and looking at the workings of a Gold mine
Tuesday morning leaving Bendigo at 8am and arriving at Dundas at 7:30pm
A great trouble free trip, no drama’s or issues, we had a great time
Thanks to the Jazowy’s for sharing the time away and having a lot of fun
A couple of the hundreds of photos we took

Our accommodation for the next 4 days

Some of the great old buildings

On show

Sightseeing Monday

Apparently only a third of the Gold was mined, but the rest is under a large water table

Sounds like it was a great weekend Col,
And looks like a great old country town.
Some familiar Mopar faces in the folding chairs on the footpath.
