Need to fill everyone in on our big weekend away
Especially those not on facebook(only because its easier to post pictures on FB)
Well I can confirm only 3 PT's left Leo's on Friday morning
Stopping several times on the way, greeting fellow travellers on the trip to Albury
It seemed Chrysler traffic was not as heavy as passed years, well thats how it looked
The Holbrook bypass was finished so no Submarines this year
Arrived in Lavington by 4pm Settled in while the girls and Chris did some shopping
We got a special cabin as ours booked from previous years was not held even though it was checked several months ago and confirmed
So upon arrival we found we were in one of the permanent dwellings Which is basically a house similar to our accommodation at Burrill lake
So with a large balcony and a BBQ Dinner was very easy and private
Saturday morning up early Don & Kim had entered to be judged and we still had to enter
Upon arrival Dot & Frank were getting PnR's ready for her 10th anniversary COTM Show
Along with the regular Blue Cabrio There was also a Black "Woody" PT being judged
Competition numbers for PT's were down But quality was very high it would come down to attention to detail
Had Don polished and scrubbed enough? Will the "new" silver be as good as the old "white"? Will Don survive the weekend if not????

Saturday also saw the "special" delivery(VG Door) being dropped off for its next leg of the journey
Missed him on the first visit so had to go back later after lunch
Carried and dragged the door around for 45mins and was it hot
I wound the window down but made no difference.
Most were concerned of the whereabouts of the rest of my "car"
and several were happy to see me with at least a part of a Valiant at COTM.
Eventually found the next courier who I gladly gave the door to
By now it should be in Dandenong
Arriving back to see Don & Kim had also returned from judging
Time for the Saturday cruise. This year something a little different
I have a brother that lives near Corowa 70k north of Albury who has just had their first baby so we thought a visit was called for
We weren't sure if we be on our own or in convoy
It was decided to have dinner at the Corowa RSL so 3 PT's set out at around 4pm
Arriving just before 5, a few drinks and some stories which are never to be repeated, Thanks.
Of course there was a few photos taken
Also in Corowa was a large group of Military Vehicle collectors in town for a big show on Sunday
With a few having dinner at the RSL as well and their vehicles parked in the carpark

I have just tried to upload photo's and it seems the old problem from before has returned
I'm not going to play around and find the best way to post photo's so I have left the ones that have worked and posted a link to all the photos
There are still some I need to upload and that will be done tomorrow now
Its not the only problem I've encountered since the last upgrade
Not happy :(

Friday - Starting at Leo's

On the road south

Sorry, Link to the rest of the photos
More will be uploaded tomorrow as well

After not going last year and since acquiring a new PT
The amount of work and effort that has gone into the new silver one of Don & Kim
Has paid off, which was quite a surprise to them (but I did predict it the day before ;) )
There has been many hours spent getting this one up to scratch, many, many hours
Although as yet not held with the same fondness of their previous Cabrio
The work they have done has paid off
Receiving the award for 2nd placed best PT Cruiser was a testament to all the hard work gone into this one to bringing it up too the Lowrie standard
Yes there were only 4 PT's being judged this year
With 1 st place going once again to the arch rival, Blue Hibiscus Cabrio
Dots 10th year entry for Plums and Roses and a Black Woody PT were the other 2 intimidating PT's being judged
But for overall presentation and eye for detail.
The familiar 1, 2 were hard to split once again
Even with 20 PT's I believe the same two would still take out the awards
You'll just have to polish and shine a little bit better next year Don

Well done and congratulations to you both
