Another great day out with our PT Cruiser family .
We gathered at our starting point at Red Rooster on the M4 and as were a little early , Michael led us on a scenic drive through Bringelly , past the new Badgery`s Creek Airport site , along to Wallacia and along through Mulgoa to Penrith .
A beautiful day for a cruise despite what the weather forecast said and we all arrived safely and found parking .
A mixture of cars again with only two PT`s , due to C Dog suffering the Gout again .Christine had navigator Sharon to guide the way in the Mitsubishi and Steve and Liz completed the group in the Subaru and we met Murph and Di who were waiting for us at the coffee shop .
Onto the boat and after a sit down and relax and drinks from the bar which were reasonably priced , lunch was served on beautiful table platters , which meant no lining up for food .
Well done to the catering crew who provided a sumptuous feast consisting of baked pork and turkey along with carrots , broccoli , green peas , potato bake , salads , fresh bread and vine ripened fresh tomatoes , complimented by gravy and apple sauce . A wonderful selection for a great meal , with more than enough to go around, and some sent back to the kitchen as we could eat no more . Dessert arrived soon after with once again a great selection and ample quantity . We headed off down the river with the sun shining , water views and ample food in our tummies as is the norm for Cruiser outings and events .
Surprise , surprise ,as on the way back up the river our Captain Chris , stops the boat and manouvers over to a rocky outcrop on the shore , lowers the gang plank and invites everyone to enjoy coffee , tea and biscuits for afternoon tea provided by the crew on the shore .
What a great way to finish off an excellent afternoon .Whilst enjoying afternoon tea , Captain Chris spoke about some of the local facts and informed us of some of the changes to the cruises in the future , which may well include , a bbq , camp fire , damper and some words from a bush poet or on the rocky outcrop near the shore .
To Michael , once again n thank you for arranging another wonderful day .Although we had done this trip before , it was just different with the addition of the stop off and other changes which I have mentioned . Happy to go back for the bbq/camp fire sessions if we can .
