on making a left turn at reasonable speed hear a scraping sound, like a type rubbing against the body, but nothing
like this visible.
at slow speed turning virtually no sound.
any suggestions, front wheel bearing or engine mountings moving??

no noise running in a straight line or turning right

Try jacking that left side up and grab the wheel top and bottom and shake to see if there is any excessive free play ....likewise side wise.
Also check front brakes just incase the brake pads are worn.
Is virtually no noise meaning no noise at all or there is still some noise?

Check all the plastic covers in side the inner guard and underneath the car
Check the wheels studs are all there and the wheel nuts are all tightened
Simple little things could be the answer.

Checked all. The wheel bearings have slight wear but found the problem
finally, the bushing in the lower torque strut is broken and hence the strut can move around and not providing
any support to the engine so would appear that the engine is moving on turning to the left at a reasonable speed.

Thanks all your suggestions
