Very good point there Mark.

Folks like us should really only listen to UHF 40 for info, and use other channels (such as 18) for chit-chat!

Marks right, I think we used 18 on our cruises some time ago, so if we start on 18 then we can decide on a more permanant channel when we get together :-):)

Our club uses channel 18. It looks like a lot of caravaners use 18 as well! We\'ve had times when away with the club we have come across the odd traveller on the channel with us and it ended up being a nice and breif conversation at times with them enquiring about our cars and where we are going and vice versa until out of reach on the signal.

Ray it sounds like you have had some good experiences shareing with the caravaners.
Its always a good thing to have the two-way on a cruise. I have often worried about when someone gets blocked at lights or just drops back. :(
If you have someone at the back with a radio it often makes it unnessary to stop on the side of the road for them to catch up. Stopping on the road often is a big risk with other trafic moving fast past you , and then you have to get all the cars out on the road together again. :(

Hi. Yeaheven with radios you\'ll still have times where you\'ll need to pull over. We do but there is a time and place to do this so as it can be quite dangerous to remerge. BUt yeah the radio is a great thing to have even for a yarn or informative. Have fun guys.

But on the 40 channel u are right they Very biased against any thing smaller than a few ton or female on the air waves !! 18 was what we were using also at Cotm too ... thanks for the reminder!
