TOPIC: Front Wheel Bearings

Re:Front Wheel Bearings 8 years 7 months ago #71736

Thought I\'d ask if anyone had done or needed to do there wheel bearings lately? (seeing the post is 4 years old)
I replaced my rotors & pads about a month ago. Last weekend I noticed that there is a slight oil / grease leak on the left hand front rim.

Had a front wheel bearing done today on our 04 at Pedders Suspension locally.
I don\'t have the equipment to do it, presses, hoist, spanners big enough and for what it cost, a 100 bucks it just wasn\'t worth it. Let the experts do it, they stuff it up, they have to fix it.
Bearing supplied by Bleam Chrysler Chrome and not as much as I originally thought it was.
I was going to buy the lot, hub and bearing but couldn\'t the sense in both if it was only the bearing that was on it\'s way out.

What I did find out was from Allan at Bleam was that if you have a pre 11th month 02 they have a different size bearing to the post 11th month 02.

Asked this question on a couple of USA PT sites and was confirmed by PT owner mechanics over there, so be aware of it if you are replacing front wheel bearings.
